Freelance Medium Writer

I'll be honest, i didnt know that Medium links are "no follow" by default. I thought they will stake up the SEO equity of a site. The more outbound links from medium articles to your site = The higher your site ranks, Sike !!!

So i started writing on Medium. Here are my stats

Not bad right. Medium gave me the audience for my thoughts. But it all died from there on. The whole idea of medium articles were to write posts and insert affiliate links to n8n .

Was too tiring and i didnt see any real monetary results. Maybe 1 dude who actually registered for my affiliate link, registered for n8n and brought a lifetime value of $35

I would be lying if I knew for a fact that the paying customer came from Medium. But in reality, i promoted this in so many channels that any one of them could have contributed to this $35 revenue. This is actually a great passive income stream if i were to focus on it

$7 / mo x 100 people = $700 / mo
Assuming a retention rate of 80% per month and an acquisition of 20 new paying members.
The only drawback is that the revenue becomes too dependant on the platform and a change in algorithm or commission structure can fuck everything up. Its good for side income and not main income

As i was growing my Gumroad to sell digital products

I came across this one guy, Travis, who claims that he grew from Medium articles. He generated a following of 11,400 people on Medium and they read whatever article he says. He publishes a stable income of $2k to $3k per month through his digital products on Gumroad that he promotes through Medium. This dude sells prompt guides !!!! a bunch of texts in a pdf !!!! I could do the same.

Thats when i discover the power of hostinger seo. They are a content powerhouse. See the amount of content they publish: 6 - 7 contents per day ? how is that possible ? They must have an army of content writers.

Then i found out some of the names are very indo names such as

• Ariffud Muhammad
• Larassatti D. & Marco C.
• Aris Sentika

Just look at their profiles. These are technical authors: a hard combination to come across. Someone with enough technical skills to vibe code a B2B SaaS is just sitting around and writing content articles. Great combination i thought.

So i started reaching out to them on Linkedin, from those 3 only Larassati responded. She seems like a well manered person, respecctful and someone who deserves my respect. So i decided to engage her with something like $20 / article. Communication was superb. She was proactive, comes up with topics, understood industry trends like OPenclaw, and she genuinely wanted to watch me grow. She even published a few articles for free / bonus. Major respect.

Let me show u the articles she published and the views they generated

Its quite decent to offload it to someone else for a simple experiment. I spent a total of $120 on 7 articles (1 was free bonus). And i think they perform really well. I asked her to focus on my n8n affiliate and gumroad links. But it generated no sales on Gumroad, nor did it generate any new paying affiliate member on n8n. So no ROI. I called it quits and informed lara not to produce any more content starting on April 2026 anymore and she was totally cool and respectful aboout it.

But im not done yet. I still think its possible. Not with a human. But with my main man claude. I think this dude is Top G and he can make it work. Claude Cowork for medium publishing. In march, there was no way to publish directly to medium because they gatekeep the api. But now Claude can cook from the browser. So here goes another 1 month experiment. Will update u how it goes on another article.
