Listing Directories behind a paywall ?
Date Published

I've been selling digital products on gumroad for a while. Its mostly n8n automation workflows realated to
- wordpress automation
- shopify blog automation
- product hunt lead generation

Got good traffic so far and generated $4,482 so far. Not enough to buy a lambo, but maybe a motorbike.

So i kinda understand how this platform works and gathers sales. but see my trend, its declining, event though i launch new products every now and then (not consistent though).
As i am launching a new SaaS for ghost writing and automatic content generation called Ghost Blog , I am experimenting with listing sites and launch directories to increase the Domain Ranking and Authority. Currently, the DR is 12, because i did a backlink exchange with Magic Hour AI . As i browse reddit r/SaaS r/microsaas r/coldemail r/SideProject to find the list of places, i found a 1,000+ sites to launch my product. Now i gotta test them one by one and experiment to see which is good, free, reputable. Most of these sites monetize by selling a service to auto apply to all these platforms. But i rekon the list too is worthy
A few notable finds and distribution strategy:
- Github repo like https://github.com/mahseema/awesome-saas-directories
- Listing site like https://launchdirectories.com
- Notion pages like https://www.notion.so/1-000-places-to-promote-your-startup-268b9abcbe3f803592a1c29abf5ca5d6
But one site stood out the most to launchpedia.co

A simple landing page with nice animations & embed. All they do is sell lists and templates. WTH. and they dont even have their own checkout page and sign up form and email newletter BS. Just a simple gumroad page

One product that stood out was this $10 list of a 150 places to list your SaaS.

WTH ????? Why will 273 people buy a list for $10 to access public information. The information is public !!!!!!! The site generated $2.7k just by providing public information behind a paywal. Thats absurd, just insanity. a simple google search or visiting a platform like launchdirectories.com can give you more than 150 listing sites to promote. Its just an excel file. Im stunned.
As i am currently building a list of website directories to promote my SaaS in, i might as well leave comments and notes. Then later bundle it to a gumroad product and sell it on Gumroad as well

If it generates me $2.7k , thats a great marketing budget to promote Ghost Blog to a wider audience.
Now, there are many questions that might affect this number such as:
- When was this gumroad page created ?
- Is the traffic growing or reducing ?
- How do they distribute the landing pages ?
- What is the spread between the 3 price points
Regardless of all this, its a good weekend experiment. but i dont want to do it alone because $2.7k is not worth all my focus. Instead, im gonna split the focus by convincing Travis Nicholson to write medium articles and SEO optimization of the products for me. Give it 30 days, if it works, we continue. If not, cut losses and call it a day.
